Q:What do you think of the idea of fully-independent (after creation) AI? What defines intelligence? What defines life, even?
Artificial Intelligence is a subject of great interest to me. The main debate now regarding A.I is between internalists and externalists. externalists suggest that Turing test is sufficient to sufficient to show intelligence. In other words, internal content is irrelevant as long as the computer can give identical outputs for each input relative to a human being.
Internalists however maintain that cognitive informational processing is the key element in intelligence and Turing test is not sufficient to show intelligence.
